Pioneer is first again-this time with an entirely new concept in high fidelity stereo headphones that means silkier, more lifelike sound reproduction with extremely high efficiency. The Pioneer SE-700 are the first high fidelity headphones to take advantage of an unusual phenomenon of electrophysics called the piezoelectric effect. As the audio signals reach the headphones, the driver ele¬ments of ultra-thin aluminum-coated high-polymer film expand and contract accordingly, creating an ideal "breathing" motion for im¬pressively natural, quite un-mechanical audio response. Tonal characteristics are comparable to those of the electrostatic type headphones, but the SE-700 require no matching (coupling) trans¬former. Thus, you can plug the SE-700 directly into the headphone jack of your amplifier or receiver. They are safe, too. Because there's no need for polarization voltage, there's no need to worry about dangerously high voltage. HIGH-POLYMER FILM DRIVER
Pioneer's high-polymerSE-700 stereo headphones are unique - the first in the world to take advantage of this unusual prin¬ciple of electrophysics by employing high-polymer driver ele¬ments with evaporated aluminum Iayer to produce natural high fidelity sound.
SIMPLE MECHANISM
The high-polymerdriver elements in the SE-700 work from the tiny audio signal to create tonal quality equivalent to that of electrostatic types. In essence, when audio signals are applied to the drivers, the film expands and contracts, thus providing ideal"breathing"motion. This motion is transformed into clear, undistorted sound.
SAFE OPERATION
The SE-700 are entirely safe to operate, since there is no need for polarization voltage and thus no need to Worry about dan¬gerously high voltage during use.
DIRECT CONNECTION
Like all conventional stereo headphones, the SE-700 need no separate, potentially troublesome matching (coupling) trans¬former. You can plug the SE-700 directly into the headphone jack of your receiver or amplifier.
NOTE: For best results, the jack an your receiver or amplifier is recom¬mended; most tape decks, tuners etc., have insufficient output.
IMPROVED SENSITIVITY AND POWER HANDLING The SE-700 react smoothly to the faintest nuance, exhibiting superior sensitivity. Yet they will not clip nor produce distor¬tion even if fed excessively strong signals (i.e. 120dB output of maximum audible sound pressure). In short, they ensure excellent power linearity over a wide range.
FLAT RESPONSE
In conventional piezoelectric elements, high-frequency reso¬nance is inevitable and severe sound spoilage can occur. In the SE-700, however, the use of the high-polymer driver ele¬ments eliminates this disadvantage, producing linear re¬sponse over the entire audio spectrum without excessive strain.
LOW-DISTORTION
