Ich kann mir halt nicht vorstellen dass die T&As sich
so anhören sollen.
5.800,- DM waren damals immerhin kein Pappendings.
Für "gescheite Hupen" sind wohl meine Arme zu kurz.

Ich war da beruflich mal im Thema....

Obwohl das FF noch immer im Sauerland steht
hier mal ein Update;
Gestern habe ich mir ja ein kleines Rack (nix dolles)
gegönnt und heute dann mal alles aus so einem
Baumarkt-Spanplattenaudiovideomöbel in das neue
verpflanzt.
Die TMRs blieben wo sie waren und neben der veränderten
Aufstellung der Geräte habe ich nur die korrekte Netzphase
mal wieder hergestellt.
Auf einmal können die T+A Bass. (wie sie auch sollten)
(Nein, die Speaker waren nicht verphast!)
Obenrum ist natürlich immer noch Luft nach oben, aber unten
ist endlich einer Zuhause.
Stecker-/Kontakt-korrosion (Dreck) kann ich eigentlich ausschließen,
dafür wurde in letzter Zeit zuviel gesteckert.
Und eine derart üble Bassfalle kann dieses komische Lowboard
auch nicht gewesen seien.

I already purchased a pair of T+A  CRITERION TMR 160 MK I in order to restore and upgrade.

I will paint in lacquered paint  the big cabinet in a modern color like red carmine or blue Cozumel, something like that

The suspensions of the subwoofer have been changed and the midrange, high-range and tweeter appear to be in good condition

I have read a lot of forum and post of upgrading vintage speakers, but there isn’t information about the TMR 160.

The guys of T+A sent me the original electric diagram of the internal wiring, filter and crossovers of the TMR, with the original nominal value for each component and cable connection !! due to I am considering to replace the capacitors and may be the high range and tweeter in order to get a better mid-range, because It lacks of. Some people talk about replacing with esoteric and expensive capacitors like Mundorf and other say that there is not difference expending such amount of money since you use new MKP capacitors instead of electrolytic ones.

My doubts are

1)    Do you think that replacing the capacitors with the same nominal data I will appreciate a difference, in which range?

2)    There is difference between brands using KPM capacitors?

3)    Do I have to replace additional coil or resistance?

4)    In order to improve the sound do you think is a good idea to replace some of the or all; the mid-range (2nd driver), high-range (3rd drivers) and tweeters (4th driver) and in this case,  I think the capacitors and coils must be replace with new data, Is that difficult to calculate and replace? Do I notice difference in sound quality?

It has been some years and I am really interested in your findings.

I also have the TMR160 and they need a overhaul and I can use all the information about it.
