Welcome on board, Robert .
It was a quiet here Max,so I wanted to raise the topic a bit
Another a bedtime story
I see that many of you complaining about shipping; and that you get an answer-US only.
Here's my experience... Late last fall I saw a remarkable example of G-22000 for sale. It was also written shipping US only. I thought about what to do.....receiver was expensive and almost as good as new,but was not essential ... definitely worth of trying to contact the seller... I might be lucky
I wrote a very polite e-mail.. presented myself as a passionate fan of Sansui, wrote a links to the forum in which I participate (to convince sellers I haven’t the middleman).. and I politely asked him to make an exception and to sell to non-US citizen.
E-mail was sent and I kept my fingers crossed.
Very soon receive an affirmative answer...
I wasn't really going to ship outside US but I can and it would be on FedEX...
Cheers,Steve.
Wow...very nice guy.
After several e-mail's we have made an agreement, and my wife just asked: ”Another one...you already have two of them?”; and I think I heard some unintelligible words
*$#...
Mr.Steve was very courteous and very patient, and he ease answered to my numerous questions. And after all he made a great packaging job too.In one of my emails to Steve I commented that if the plane accidentally crashes, Sansui has all chances to stay in one piece (actually ,in two pieces ).
The packaging was followed by with more than fifty (yes,50) photo's, for me to sleep tight. Here are just some of them:
A bunch of original paper came too:
Just to satisfy the curious, FedEx price (with 70 percent discount) to ship 2 boxes to Croatia was almost 500 Euros, so we decided to send boxes to Germany, to friends address. Shipping to Munich, Germany was less then 200 Euros.
I was worried about Germans custom and unfortunately I was right. They ripped me off for 530 Euros!!
to be continued...
